The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and flowing water, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 on raised couches. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38
