He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 when the blind man approached him, 2 What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? 4 Yet you pay attention 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 But he who comes to you running, 8 And hath fear, 9 You neglect. 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 So whoso wills may give heed to it. 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 From what did He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 Then gave him death, so had him put in the grave. 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 And olives and palms 29 And dense gardens, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening blast is sounded, 33 On the Day whereon a man shall flee from his brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 but others will be gloomy 40 Dust shall cover them 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
