Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 In the high empyrean, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 Goblets set, 14 And cushions ranged 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
