He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 or he might be mindful and good counsel might avail him. 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself -- 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 And whereas he fears, 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 From what has God created him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 Some faces that Day will be beaming, 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
