Messengers! Partake of the things that are clean, and act righteously. I know well all that you do. 51 Surely this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so fear Me.' 52 But then they divided up their order into different creeds, each section rejoicing in what it had come to have. 53 Therefore leave them in their overwhelming ignorance till 54 Do they think that what We extend to them of wealth and children 55 We provide them with the means of competing with each other in virtuous deeds, but they do not realize this. 56 Verily those who for fear of their Lord are in awe. 57 Those who believe in the Signs of their Lord; 58 And those who do not ascribe any partner to their Lord – 59 And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear (whether their alms and charities, etc., have been accepted or not), because they are sure to return to their Lord (for reckoning). 60 These are hastening on to good, and they are therein foremost. 61 We do not impose on any soul what is beyond its capacity. We have the Book which speaks the truth and no injustice will be done to it. 62 But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,- 63 Till, when We seize with the chastisement the ones of them that live at ease, behold, they groan. 64 Supplicate not this day! Assuredly ye will not be helped by Us. 65 My signs were recited to you, but upon your heels you withdrew, 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Should they not think upon the saying? Or, did anything come upon them that had not come upon their ancient forefathers? 68 Or is it, perchance, that they have not recognized their Apostle, and so they disavow him? 69 Or they say, “He is afflicted by a demon”; in fact he brought the Truth to them, and most of them dislike the Truth. 70 But if the Truth had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined. Rather, We have brought them their message, but they, from their message, are turning away. 71 Are you asking them for something? What Allah has given you is the best. He is the Best of providers. 72 and, most surely, you are calling them to a straight path. 73 but those who disbelieve the life hereafter deviate from the right path. 74 ۞ And if We show mercy to them and remove the distress they have, they would persist in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on. 75 And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus] 76 Until when We have opened before them a door of severe punishment, immediately they will be therein in despair. 77
