The dwellers of the wood belied the sent ones. 176 Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 Weigh your goods with proper balance 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)" 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 But in case you are speaking the truth, then make a segment of the sky to fall upon us." 187 He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
