Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 Certainly, you have different ideas (about Muhammad SAW and the Quran). 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
