Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 And surely they used to say: 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 That they would be helped, 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 And leave them for a time. 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
