The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
