Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
