But nay! I swear by that which you see, 38 and by what you do not see, 39 That this is verily the word of an honoured Messenger [i.e. Jibrael (Gabriel) or Muhammad SAW which he has brought from Allah]. 40 It is not the word of a poet: little it is ye believe! 41 nor is it the speech of a soothsayer little do you remember. 42 It is a revelation sent down by the Sustainer of the Universe: 43 Had he invented sayings against Us, 44 We would have seized him by the right hand; 45 And We should certainly then cut off the artery of his heart: 46 Then none among you would be his saviour. 47 And verily, this Quran is a Reminder for the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 48 And We certainly know that there are amongst you those that reject (it). 49 and surely it will be a cause of regret for the unbelievers. 50 But verily it is Truth of assured certainty. 51 So glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 52
