The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Where then will you go? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
