The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 And accepts the best, 6 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
