The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the midday brightness 1 and by the night when it darkens, 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 And the Hereafter is indeed better unto thee than the life present. 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and take care of you? 6 And He found thee wandering, so He guided thee, 7 And He found thee in need, and made thee independent. 8 Wherefore as to the orphan, be thou not unto him overbearing. 9 And as to the beggar, chide thou him not. 10 Therefor of the bounty of thy Lord be thy discourse. 11
