The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
