The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 And those who keep a guard on their prayers; 9 These are the heirs 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 Thereafter We made him of a sperm in a receptacle safe. 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 The tree that grows on Mount Sinai yields oil and seasoning for those who eat. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. 22
