Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 We destroyed the others 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
