The Night (Al-Layl)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And rejects the best, 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
