NAY, but consider the moon! 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 we fed not the needy, 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
