He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 to a rich man, 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 And whereas he fears, 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble, pious. 16 Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! 17 Of what did He create him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Not one – he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 And dense gardens, 30 and fruits and pastures – 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Veiled in darkness, 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
