The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
