The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
