The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
