S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Suad, I swear by the Quran, full of admonition. 1 Nay, but those who disbelieve are in false pride and schism. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them. They called: 'The time is neither of escape, nor safety' 3 It seems strange to the pagans that a man from their own people should come to them as a Prophet. The unbelievers have said, "He is only a lying magician". 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a wondrous thing' 5 Their leaders departed, saying, "Walk away! Hold fast to your deities. This is clearly a conspiracy. 6 We never heard of this in the former religion. It is nothing but an invention. 7 “Is the Qur’an which is sent to him, among us?” In fact they are in a doubt concerning My Book; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or, are with them the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Bestower? 9 Or, is theirs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and that which is in-between the twain? If so, let them ascend by steps. 10 This is only a small army out of the several armies that will suffer defeat here. 11 Cried lies before them the people of Noah, and Ad, and Pharaoh, he of the tent-pegs, 12 And [the tribe of] Thamud and the people of Lot and the companions of the thicket. Those are the companies. 13 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. 14
