The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
