Hizb 46
< random >
And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 But as for you, and that you worship, 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 and, verily, we too extol His limitless glory!" 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
