In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Sad. By the Quran, full of admonition! 1 Those who deny the truth are steeped in arrogance and hostility. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them. They called: 'The time is neither of escape, nor safety' 3 So they wonder that a Warner has come to them from among themselves! and the Unbelievers say, "This is a sorcerer telling lies! 4 "Has he made the gods (all) into one Allah? Truly this is a wonderful thing!" 5 And the eminent among them went forth, [saying], "Continue, and be patient over [the defense of] your gods. Indeed, this is a thing intended. 6 We have not heard of this in the last religion; this is surely an invention. 7 Has the reminder been revealed to him from among us? Nay! they are in doubt as to My reminder. Nay! they have not yet tasted My chastisement! 8 Or, are with them the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Bestower? 9 Or have they the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all between? If so, let them mount up with the ropes and means (to reach that end)! 10 this host too, among other hosts, is bound to suffer defeat. 11 Before them there have belied the people of Nuh and the 'Aad, and Fir'awn the owner of the stakes. 12 And [the tribe of] Thamud and the people of Lot and the companions of the thicket. Those are the companies. 13 There was not one but belied the apostles, wherefore justified was My wrath. 14

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
