In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 arise and warn, 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 thy robes purify 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 Do not give, thinking to gain greater 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 For when the trumpet is sounded, 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 not an easy day for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 and sons that stand in witness. 13 And for whom I smoothed everything. 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give yet more! 15 No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. 16 I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa'ud, or to) face a severe torment! 17 For he thought and he plotted -- 18 Ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 19 Yea, Woe to him; How he plotted!- 20 He then dared to lift his gaze. 21 Then frowned he and scowled. 22 Then turned he back, and grew stiff-necked. 23 and said, "This is nothing but sorcery from the ancients. 24 This is naught but the word of a mortal. 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 And what have you understood, what hell is! 27 It neither spares, nor releases, 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 Over it are nineteen keepers. 30 And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals. 31
