By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
