Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 everyone shall know all his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 Verify there are for you guardians, 10 Honorable recorders, 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in delight (Paradise); 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
