Alshu'araa' 4 of 11

۞ And We inspired Moses, saying: Take away My slaves by night, for ye will be pursued. 52 Then Pharaoh sent heralds to (all) the Cities, 53 'These' they said, 'are a small band, 54 who have enraged us greatly. 55 And most surely we are a vigilant multitude. 56 So We made them leave their gardens and springs, 57 and [deprived them of their erstwhile] station of honour!" 58 Thus. And We caused to inherit it the Children of Israel. 59 So they pursued them at sunrise. 60 and when the two groups saw each other, Moses' companions said, "We are sure to be overtaken." 61 He replied: Nay indeed! My Sustainer is with me, [and] He will guide me!" 62 Thereupon We inspired Moses thus: Strike the sea with thy staff!" - whereupon it parted, and each part appeared like a mountain vast. 63 And there We brought the others on, 64 We saved Moses and all the people with him 65 and then We caused the others to drown. 66 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 67 And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 68
