The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Mount, 1 and a Book inscribed 2 On fine parchment unrolled, 3 by the much-frequented House, 4 And the elevated canopy 5 And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection). 6 Verily the torment of thine Lord is sure to befalls 7 there is none who could avert it. 8 on the Day when the skies are convulsed, 9 and the mountains are in motion, 10 Then woe that Day to those that treat (Truth) as Falsehood;- 11 Those who are playing in pursuits. 12 The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 Is this magic, or is it that you do not see? 15 Roast in it! And bear you patiently, or bear not patiently, equal it is to you; you are only being recompensed for that you were working.' 16 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in Gardens (Paradise), and Delight. 17 enjoying what Allah will have endowed them with; and their Lord will have saved them from the torment of the Blazing Fire. 18 "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do." 19 reclining on couches [of happiness] ranged in rows!" And [in that paradise] We shall mate them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 And We aided them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. 22 In it, they accept cups from each other, in which is neither any lewdness nor any sin. 23 ۞ And their boy servants shall go around them, as if they were pearls, safely hidden. 24 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 25 Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. 26 “So Allah did us a great favour, and saved us from the punishment of the flame.” 27 Before, we were supplicating to Him.
