And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping,- 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 Who created me and Who guides me; 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 "And He will give me death, then resurrect me." 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 "And forgive my paternal uncle - he is indeed astray." 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 [and when] only he [will be happy] who comes before God with a heart free of evil!" 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 and the Fire will be uncovered for those who strayed, 91 And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 And no one misguided us except the criminals. 99 So none we have as intercessors. 100 "Nor a caring friend." 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 In all this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104
