By the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 concerning the sinners, 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
