۞ And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence. 21 [Yet] on that Day - the Day on which they shall see the angels there will be no glad tiding for those who were lost in sin; and they will exclaim, "By a forbidding ban [are we from God's grace debarred]!" 22 Then We shall turn to what they had done and render it vain like scattered dust. 23 The dwellers of the garden shall on that day be in a better abiding-place and a better resting-place. 24 And on the Day on which the skies, together with the clouds, shall burst asunder, and the angels are made to descend in a mighty descent 25 The kingdom on that day shall rightly belong to the Beneficent Allah, and a hard day shall it be for the unbelievers. 26 And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way. 27 "Ah! woe is me! Would that I had never taken such a one for a friend! 28 He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter." 29 The Messengers will say, "Lord, my people had abandoned this Quran." 30 And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper. 31 Those who deny the truth say, "Why was the Quran not sent down to him in a single revelation?" We sent it in this manner, so that We might strengthen your heart. We gave it to you in gradual revelation. 32 And they bring thee no similitude but We bring thee the Truth (as against it), and better (than their similitude) as argument. 33 Those who will be gathered into Gehenna (Hell) upon their faces shall be in the worst in place, and have gone further astray from the Path. 34
