Bring to mind Our servant Job who cried to his Lord, "Satan has afflicted me with distress and suffering." 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We bestowed on him his household and along with them the like thereof, out of mercy from us, and a remembrance unto men of understanding. 43 [And finally We told him:] "Now take in thy hand a small bunch of grass, and strike therewith, and thou wilt not break thine oath!" for, verily, We found him full of patience in adversity: how excellent a servant [of Ours,] who, behold, would always turn unto Us! 44 (Muhammad), recall Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, all of whom possessed virtuous hands and clear visions. 45 Verily, We did choose them by granting them (a good thing, i.e.) the remembrance of the home [in the Hereafter and they used to make the people remember it, and also they used to invite the people to obey Allah and to do good deeds for the Hereafter]. 46 And behold, in Our sight they were indeed among the elect, the truly good! 47 Remember [Our servants] Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhu'l-Kifl. Each of them was among the just. 48 This is a Reminder. The righteous shall have a good place to return to: 49 The gardens of perpetuity, the doors are opened for them. 50 Where they will take their ease, calling for fruits in plenty, and for wine, 51 ۞ and with them maidens restraining their glances of equal age. 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 this is Our unending provision' 54 All this (is for the God-fearing). But for the transgressors, an evil resort awaits them -- 55 hell will they have to endure - and how vile a resting-place! 56 This is so! Then let them taste it, a boiling fluid and dirty wound discharges. 57 And other torments, like thereof, conjoined. 58 Here is a troop rushing headlong with you! No welcome for them! truly, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 (The followers shall cry to the misleaders:) "Nay, ye (too)! No welcome for you! It is ye who have brought this upon us! Now evil is (this) place to stay in!" 60 adding, "Our Lord, give double punishment to those who brought this upon us." 61 But why is it that we cannot see men whom we had considered as wicked 62 [and] whom we made the target of our derision? Or are they here, and our eyes have missed them?" 63 Truly that is just and fitting,- the mutual recriminations of the People of the Fire! 64
