The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
