The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 The piercing star! 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
