The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 Will pray for death, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
Almighty Allah's Truth.
