Those who spend their wealth [in Allah 's way] by night and by day, secretly and publicly - they will have their reward with their Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve. 274 THOSE who gorge themselves on usury behave but as he might behave whom Satan has confounded with his touch; for they say: "Buying and selling is but a kind of usury" - the while God has made buying and selling lawful and usury unlawful. Hence, whoever becomes aware of his Sustainer's admonition, and thereupon desists [from usury,] may keep his past gains, and it will be for God to judge him; but as for those who return to it - they are destined for the fire, therein to abide! 275 Allah does not bless usury, and He causes charitable deeds to prosper, and Allah does not love any ungrateful sinner. 276 Verily those who believe and work righteous works and establish prayer and give the poor-rate, theirs shall be their hire with their Lord: no fear shall come on them nor shall they grieve. 277 O Ye who believe: fear Allah and leave that which remainoth of usury if ye are believers. 278 But if you do (it) not, then be apprised of war from Allah and His Apostle; and if you repent, then you shall have your capital; neither shall you make (the debtor) suffer loss, nor shall you be made to suffer loss. 279 If he should be in hardship, then a postponement until ease; while if you give charity it is better for you if you know. 280 And fear a Day when you will be returned to Allah. Then every soul will be compensated for what it earned, and they will not be treated unjustly. 281
