He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 you attend to him, 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 And he feareth 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 NAY, VERILY, these [messages] are but a reminder: 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 On honourable pages. 13 Exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 Noble and righteous. 16 May man be slain – how ungrateful he is! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 Let man reflect on the food he eats. 24 We send down abundant water, 25 and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 And olive and palm trees 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 and from his spouse and his children: 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 with darkness overspread: 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
