Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 you do so the while there are watchers over you; 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 who know of all that you do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 And verily, the Fujjar (the wicked, disbelievers, sinners and evil-doers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell), 14 In which they will enter, and taste its burning flame on the Day of Recompense, 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
