Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 and goblets set forth 14 And cushions lined up 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
