Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter 1 Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it. 2 He thinks that his wealth will immortalise him forever. 3 Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushing Fire. 4 And what do you know what the Crusher is? 5 It is the fire kindled by God 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 It shall be made into a vault over them, 8 In extending columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
