The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 And We brought Our signs unto them, yet they were averting themselves therefrom. 81 And they hewed houses in the mountains in security. 82 But the Shout seized them in the morning, 83 and whatever they had been earning proved of no avail. 84 We have not created but with reason the heavens and the earth and all that lies within them. The Hour (of the great change) is certain to come. So turn away (from them) with a grace. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 Like as We sent down on the dividers 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 For all their deeds. 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 Verily We will suffice unto thee against the mockers. 95 Who place other gods besides God. They will come to know soon. 96 We do indeed know how your heart is distressed at what they say. 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 Worship your Lord until you achieve the ultimate certainty. 99
