The men of the Thicket cried lies to the Envoys 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 do not defraud people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not spread corruption in the land. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
