Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf, 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' 29 They said, 'So says thy Lord; He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.' 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 marked by your Lord for the sinful' 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 but We found only one Muslim house. 36 And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. 37 And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, 38 In response, he turned away along with his army and said, “He is a magician or a madman.” 39 So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. 40 And in the tribe of A’ad, when we sent a dry windstorm upon them. 41 that left nothing it came upon, but made it as stuff decayed. 42 And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46
