The Column (Al-Suff)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorifieth Allah, and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 1 O you who believe, wherefore do you say what you do not? 2 Very hateful is it to God, that you say what you do not. 3 Allah indeed loves those who fight in His Way as though they are a solid wall cemented with molten lead. 4 And (remember) when Moses said unto his people: O my people! Why persecute ye me, when ye well know that I am Allah's messenger unto you? So when they went astray Allah sent their hearts astray. And Allah guideth not the evil-living folk. 5 And when Jesus son of Mary said, 'Children of Israel, I am indeed the Messenger of God to you, confirming the Torah that is before me, and giving good tidings of a Messenger who shall come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad.' Then, when he brought them the clear signs, they said, 'This is a manifest sorcery.' 6 And who does greater evil than he who forges a lie against Allah, when he is being called to Islam? Allah does not guide the harmdoing people. 7 They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it. 8 He it is Who sent His Apostle with the guidance and the true religion, that He may make it overcome the religions, all of them, though the polytheists may be averse. 9
