In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known extent. 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 "Move towards what you used to deny!" 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
