The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
